El Nido and Bacuit Archipelago, Palawan

  1. FISHY!

I'm still chuckling that you went from some foreign song about ice cream during snorkeling to Smooth Operator for the motorcycle ride.

The beach at the very beginning was way cool, it seemed like every shell was moving around! Hermit crabs?

  2. Yes, many many fishies. FISHIES!

For some strange reason, S and I had Smooth Operator stuck in our heads most of the trip. Maybe because there are a lot of boat operators out of El Nido. But as it churned over and again in our heads, we twisted the lyrics to fit our context and turned it into Smooth Snorkelator. I had to fit it in the vid and thought the change of pace might be amusing. :)

Yeah, that was quite a dense community of hermit crabs. We could always look around for them to keep ourselves entertained.

  3. that is some smooth video editing skills, coupled with some silky smooth music. Moby would love it there. That area looks beautiful dude, I love that dog tugging on the puffer fish, the motorbikes on that SMOOTH sand, "coast to coast and in to chicago, western bay", thanks for getting Sade in my head (it's Sade right? How do I know that?). Is that one of those Go2Pro cameras??

  5. Glad you edited-out the part where you got rodgered by Leo DiCaprio on The Beach (guess that's where all the crabs came from...?)

  7. Louie, don't worry, I knew that was you. I saved our intimate encounter with Leo for part 2.

And Becky, it takes careful editing to make expat life look this good. :)

Nick, I would have been stunned if you didn't know that was Sade. You're a music almanac. We used a Sony waterproof point-and-shoot that has been great for trips. It's hand-held and can get a bit shaky, but works pretty damn well.

  9. Ours is the Sony Cybershot TX5, although I think the latest version is TX10.
