Shanghai has legions of cheap cleaning crews to offset the ugly convention of casually throwing trash onto the streets. This will be gone by morning. Think of it as curbside pick up.
Have you done it? Would be kinda fun to throw some trash on the road in reckless abandon. I would probobly feel bad, but maybe not. Hmm, I should try this up at Mt Tabor or somthin :)
I love this idea. When in Rome. You have just inspired an upcoming pic of the day.
The places where this habit is really unfortunate are the natural areas (like Tabor) where cleaning crews aren't in full force. For many here, the tendency to fling garbage doesn't stop just because custodial services are not present. We've found a couple hikes where debris litters the sides of the trails. It's really a pity.
